Shuffleboard Courts in action

Well, I apologize! Shuffling has been over for two and a half months and I haven’t told you what has happened since the end of our season. If you did not attend the AGM you may be wondering what decisions were made. - Membership and drop-in fees will remain the same for the coming year. - Tournament entry fees will include your entry and a banquet ticket. - We had a vote to see if we should move to the Avonair Curling Club. The vote was 23 to 7 in favour of staying at the Ottewell. This was a good decision as the Avonair is now closed and the building may be up for sale. - The election of Board members took place. Diana Monette has resigned, and we must thank her for her service. Dan Leclair was elected to bring the board to 7 members. Dan will take on the duties of Memberships and Promotions. Wilma Gerlach will step up as the Director of Administration. - The new Board had their first meeting on October 20th, 2024. - The Charlie Loiselle Memorial Singles tournament will be May 13, 14 and 15th, 2024. - The Mixed Doubles tournament will be July 23, 24 and 25th, 2024. AND NOW FOR SOME EXCITING NEWS! Our Digital Communications Director, Vicky Moroz, has been working very hard over the past few months designing a new website for our club. Our old site was not all that appealing and locating the information that we wanted was sometimes difficult. I think you will find the new site more modern and appealing and much easier to navigate. Of course, you will still access it by going to Other pluses are that it will be easier to update and will now be located at a Canadian provider versus a US one. This will save us money over the next few years. So please check it out and let us know what you think. And you can also check us out and join our Facebook website at: And so, for all you lucky snowbirds who will be shuffling in a warmer climate, please think of us peons and take it easy on us when you return next spring. Till next time! Wally Bentt President Cell: 780690-5004 eMail:
