PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Christmas is just around the corner, and Twenty Twenty Five, is fast approaching. I and your GESA Board of Directors extend our heartfelt wishes for a joyous Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year to you and your family. To increase our membership numbers, let’s aim to have a list of over 100 members on our spreadsheet. The best way to achieve this is by sharing the exciting news about our club with others. Encourage them to visit our website and click on the YouTube Promo Video button at the bottom of the home page. Our 2-minute and 40-second video covers a lot in a short time. Additionally, wearing your GESA name tag at events you attend can spark conversations about shuffleboard. Lorna and I have found this to be an effective way to promote our game. For the upcoming season, we’ve implemented a new initiative: anyone who comes for the first time will receive a complimentary first day and lesson. Another exciting development is that NAIT marketing students have collaborated with us on a project to promote our game. We eagerly await the results of this venture. I’ve heard some interest in attending the CNSA Canadian National Team Tournament in Blenheim, Ontario, from June 16 to 20, 2025. This tournament is located near the southernmost point in Canada and Niagara Falls. Once all the details are finalized, I’ll share more information with you. Notably, GESA will host this tournament in 2027. Speaking of the CNSA, they are seeking a second vice president for the National Board of Directors, and they would prefer a candidate from the western region.
