PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hey! Shuffle Board is back! The ice is on the way out and our season is about to begin at the Ottewell Curling Club. We will have a pre-registration event from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24th at the Ottewell. 4205 102 Ave NW, Edmonton. Our first day of play will be Thursday, April 25th at 10:00 am. If you can’t make the pre-registration, plan on coming at least a half hour early on any of our regular play times. Those are 10:00 am and 12:30 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, and also 7:00 pm Thursday evenings. Word of mouth is the absolute best way to let friends and family know about our club. Advise them that our drop-in rate is only $7.00 a day. I know they will love this game, so if they come once or twice and want to become a member, we will deduct what they have already paid from the $100.00 membership fee. That will entitle them to unlimited play all summer long! We all want to welcome newcomers to the club. If you are one of those, please let me or the desk staff know before the game is to begin. We will arrange lessons to quickly get you up and running! Everything you will need is provided. Our club hosts two open tournaments each year. These are the Charlie Loiselle Memorial Singles on May 13th, 14th & 15th, and the Mixed Doubles July 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Entry fees for each is $60.00 per person which includes a banquet and cash prizes. And speaking of tournaments, the International Shuffleboard Association will be holding the World Singles Tournament on November 1st in San Benito, Texas. If you are interested please contact me ASAP. Our fund raisers this year will be silent auctions at our tournaments.
